Forerunner Ministry

An example of prophet who did his job in revealing the heart of God is John the Baptist. He is described the friend of the bridegroom who prepare the way of Jesus, the heavenly bridegroom. In this generation, when the time of His second coming approaches, God is raising up a generation of forerunners who operates in the spirit of prophecy and the spirit of the friend of the bridegroom. These forerunners are going to proclaim the love of Jesus, His holy zeal for His bride. They will prepare the way of Jesus and they will prepare the heart of the individuals to love the Bridegroom.

Difference between Spirit of Prophecy and Prophet

There is a different between having the spirit of prophesy and being a prophet. In the Old Testament, only specially chosen people are filled with the Holy Spirit in special occasions. The prophets are deliberately anointed to speak the heart of God. In the New Testament, the office of prophets continues to exist but by the blood of Jesus every genuine believer has the Holy Spirit dwelling within. The Lord also promised to pour the spirit of prophecy upon all of His sons and daughters. We are all called minister prophetically but not all of us are called to be prophets

It takes God to love God

God is love. He loves all man equally. He does not discriminate. He is just and true. He hates sin. He is joyful for His sons because of Jesus. We may speak of the affection and the wrath of God at the same time without contradictions.

He loves His people with an infinite love which is revealed progressively forever. And as a result of this revelation, we are imparted with the ability to show affection to Jesus. It takes God to love God. We are able to love God only because of His grace.

One thing we must get hold of for us to love God properly is that God is happy. Many churches teach things or say things that make people feel that the Lord is mostly sad or mostly mad. The truth is God is joyful. Jesus is Joyful.

The Spirit of Prophecy

An angel who appeared to John the Apostle told him that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. All prophecies are spoken to witness or to reveal testimony of Jesus Christ, His identity, His work and His heart. We must know Him and encounter Him personally before we could do that.

As a follower of Christ, by the grace of God and through faith, we are able to know God intimately. To function prophetically, we experience God’s heart and reveal it according to His will. A prophetic ministry reveals the heart of God in different aspects and in different levels.

The Prophetic Ministry of the Body of Christ

When we talk about prophetic, often we think of dreams and visions, angelic visitations and things like that. In fact, being prophetic has much deeper meanings to it. We are all commanded to earnestly desire to prophesy. It is time for us to understand in what way we must function as the prophetic Church of Jesus in the end time.

God speaks through His servants. In the bible we see a lot of men chosen by God who spoke the will of God. This is enough for us to see that the main function of a prophetic ministry is to reveal God’s own heart.
